#EriksonBookDrive

This was a first-of-its-kind campaign at Erikson Institute that was held as a runup to our inaugural #EriksonServiceWeek at Christopher House locations around Chicago in spring of 2017. Christopher House is a family of schools that helps low-income, at-risk families succeed in school, the workplace, and life. I was responsible for all graphics and photography during the month-long campaign.

Anchoring graphic

I created this graphic for social media and digital newsletters in order to present all the pertinent and significant information users would need to participate in our book drive.

March 30 kickoff

We launched the book drive March 30; it ended April 28. All links in social and digital messaging directed users to a story about our service week and book drive that no longer exists after our website redesign in December 2017.

April newsletter

The monthly newsletter that is delivered to Erikson Institute alumni featured the book drive, along with our service week. This served as our only email communication about the book drive.

April 12

Between launch on March 30 and April 12, we repeated the initial kickoff post until we had some books in our possession that we could use for an update and reminder.

Every Instagram post used throughout the campaign was presented as a photo gallery in which the second image was the anchoring social media graphic.

I couldn't resist taking advantage of a massive donation of books we received as the book drive was winding down, so this was an idea and message developed on the spot when our donor visited us with her books.

We decided to send one last blast out on the platforms where we had been seeing the most success, so this final in-drive post was used on Twitter and Instagram.

May 1

The #EriksonBookDrive ended on Friday, April 28, and on Monday, May 1, I spent a good portion of my day counting the books we collected and staging them for this photo.

I wanted to get a photo of the books being delivered directly to the children, but Christopher House wanted to first go through all of the donations, so I settled on a few photos of the books being delivered on site.
